Career Description
Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated projects of a complex nature toensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters.
Job Requirements
Exercises independent thought and judgment and works with minimum supervision. Independently coordinates efforts for complex projects to assure contract and customer requirements are being met.
Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of a project.
Takes initiative to develop plans and to follow-up.
Provides timely solutions to difficult problems.
Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of a project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
Confers with project team to develop workplan and to assign duties, responsibilities, scope of authority and to follow up.
Monitors, directs and coordinates activities and personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required. Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.
Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems. Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.
Provides production support in the areas of failure analysis, disposition of non-conforming material, and rework procedures.
Generates input for drawings and insures that the drawings are built to the proper level required by contract and/or internal needs.
Evaluates the program for areas that can improve the quality of organization''s products and the profit earned from those products.
Prepares task requests, service requests, test requests and purchase requests in timely manner as required.
Develops and utilizes computer skills, as appropriate, in the performance of all duties. Completes annual business plan assignments.
Provides performance review input to other functional groups upon request. Prepares and/or coordinates cost and technical proposals.
Necessary Skills
Must be able to work on government programs (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.)
Bachelor of Science degree Engineering, or related field of study, plus at least a minimum of five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Internet software; Order processing systems; Project Management software; Presentation software and Database software.
